WTTW (Chicago PBS) and WFMT (Classical radio) are seeking a Senior Director of Development, Campaign. The Senior Director is responsible for leading the campaign in close partnership with the EVP and CDO and campaign counsel and supports other top professional and volunteer leaders in carrying out the campaign. The Director is responsible for creating and implementing strategies and management plans to ensure the campaign’s success. The Senior Director will have a portfolio of campaign and annual major donors to cultivate, solicit, and steward. The Senior Director will work closely with development and membership colleagues to ensure coordination of campaign and annual giving strategies.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Work with EVP and CDO to staff the Campaign and Development Committees to provide and ensure coordination of activities, including meeting notes, support materials, prospect briefing memos, research, and prospect/donor meeting follow-up needs.
- Work with counsel and internal stakeholders on the development of campaign collateral for individuals, foundations, and corporations.
- Work with development colleagues to identify campaign prospects and track them through the cycle from qualification through solicitation, stewardship, and renewal, including campaign records management and gift processing.
- Work closely with development colleagues to ensure coordination of campaign and annual giving strategies.
- Manage a portfolio of ~100 major donors, responsible for advancing relationships on behalf of the organization, and for carrying out cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship activities.
- Work with other departments and campaign counsel to plan and execute the public phase of the campaign.
SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS:
- Excellent project management skills.
- Excellent computer skills, including Word, Excel, and CRM software. Experience using Tessitura a plus.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as with a team to produce results in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to demonstrate WTTW and WFMT values through one’s professional relationships: curiosity, commitment, trust, respect, excellence, diversity, and fun.
EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum 10 years development experience including solicitation for major gifts, annual giving, and capital campaigns.
- Experience managing a major fundraising campaign.
- Experience raising money from individuals. Experience raising money from foundations and corporations a plus.
- Experience coordinating and working with high-level fundraising volunteers.
- Experience portfolio management of major donors.
FORMAL TRAINING & EDUCATION:
- Experience as a project director and major gift officer required.
- College degree desired. CFRE a plus.
- Drivers license required and access to a car a plus.
ESTIMATED SALARY RANGE: starting at $102,000 - $120,000/annual
